Common pricing questions
A node is a worker node in your Kubernetes cluster where the Runtimekindle DaemonSet pod runs. Control plane nodes (where the K8s API server runs) are not counted. We track the maximum number of nodes observed in a billing period — no surprise overages for temporary scaling events under 2 hours.
Yes. All plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. The trial runs on your own cluster (up to 5 nodes) with the full Team-plan feature set — runtime detection, SBOM generation, supply chain attestation, and one-click audit export. At the end of the trial, you choose a plan or the account is paused (your data is retained for 30 days).
No. SBOM generation, container scanning, runtime reachability correlation, and supply chain attestation are all part of a single platform deployment. There's no separate "SBOM add-on" or "compliance add-on." The CI step (SBOM + cosign) and the runtime agent (eBPF DaemonSet) are both included in your plan.
Node count is aggregated across all clusters under your account. If you have a production cluster with 20 nodes and a staging cluster with 8 nodes, your total is 28 nodes. Starter supports up to 10, Team supports up to 50. For larger multi-cluster setups, Scale pricing is per-cluster or per-node depending on your configuration.
The Scale plan includes a self-hosted control plane option where all data stays within your VPC — no egress to Runtimekindle's cloud infrastructure. The eBPF agent is the same software; only the control plane destination changes. Self-hosted requires a dedicated deployment and is available as an add-on to Scale plan pricing.
